Christ Pres Virtual Worship 4/12/2020

Good Afternoon, Church Family,

As I mentioned earlier this week, our plan for tomorrow’s worship service is to meet together via Zoom video conferencing.  This has the benefit of allowing us to see one another’s faces and be encouraged as we worship together, knowing that we aren’t truly alone in our living rooms, but we are gathered together not only in Spirit, but online with our church family.  While we recognize that this is not the place we would want to gather, we are grateful for the ability to do so, and we’re reminded again that this broken world is not our home.  This Sunday especially, though, we remember that we have a perfect home to which we are headed, where there will be no more sickness or separation or loneliness or tears, but we will rejoice together in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Every Sunday, we have the opportunity to experience just a foretaste of this inheritance that is stored up for us in Jesus, and this week is no exception.  Though we will all be in different places, we will still get to gather together to worship our one Lord and King, the risen Jesus.
You can get the call-in details for the Zoom meeting, as well as a copy of the bulletin for the service, by emailing me at pastor@christgrovecity.org.
If you call in on a phone, or if you join in via a computer without a webcam, that’s okay!  We may not be able to see your face, but we will be able to see that you are present with us, and before and after the service, we can still visit together.  Once the service starts, I’ll be able to mute everyone’s microphones so that we can still sing together without a hilarious attempt at singing in a round due to computer lag.  It also won’t bother anyone else if your dog or child barks.
CPC Family, I want to personally thank you for your patience with me and the elders as we have tried to figure out how best to serve you during these confusing and unprecedented times.  It has been encouraging to me to see how different people in the church are continuing to serve one another and their neighbors, and while everyone seems to be struggling a little bit in one way or another, we haven’t lost sight of the hope of the gospel.  Praise the Lord for His goodness to us!  I look forward to celebrating that hope with you tomorrow morning.
     In His grace,
