Our History

Iain and Barb Duguid moved with their family to Grove City in the fall of 2006 when Iain joined the faculty of Grove City College as Professor of Old Testament. An experienced church planter, Iain launched Christ Presbyterian Church in the summer of 2008 with the encouragement and support of community members and students. Matt Harmon joined Iain as co-mission developer in 2012. In May of 2013, Christ Presbyterian Church transitioned from church plant to a fully organized and self-governing congregation.

The Duguids’ vision was to plant a church for broken and hurting people. In the years since, many individuals and families have found or rediscovered healing and hope in the good news of Jesus. Hundreds of college students have been part of Christ Presbyterian Church and gone on to live, work and serve in their new communities and churches. God has begun calling men and women to ministry through our church. On June 1st, 2014, original core group member Jonathan Kuciemba was ordained as our associate pastor.

After Ian Duguid, Matthew Harmon, and Jonathan Kuciemba left Christ Presbyterian Church to serve in other teaching and pastoral positions, Christ Presbyterian Church began to seek its next pastor. In October of 2022, the church issued a call to Seob Kim. Seob was then ordained in Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church by North East Presbytery and was installed at Christ Presbyterian Church in November of 2022.
